FUN DAY!!

Today, we did something, I have wanted to do for a few years now, but, never had the nerve. We entered some pictures in to the Eastern Idaho State Fair in Blackfoot. I am so excited.
So these are a few of the ones we entered. The one above was taken on top of a mountain up by a town called Challis.
This one has a small bird in the middle of this huge pine tree.

This one was taken while deer hunting in Mackay. Gee I wonder who was hunting the hardest?

I love this one, Brian took this one while duck hunting one morning on the Snake River.

This is one of my favorites, Brian took this of Jake, the actual picture shows more color on Jake.
The only problem is about 400 other people put their pictures in the fair too!!!! There are three divisions, amateur (us), advanced amateur, and professional. I was amazed at the pictures that were there. I am sure we do not stand a chance, but, it will be fun to go in the photography building and find our pictures. I think every now and then we need to step out of our comfort zones and have an adventure, this is ours.
We also went and spent a couple hours with Dad today, I think he enjoyed that. Then we went to dinner and called it a day.

All in one day....

Yesterday we went on our 5th annual Huckleberry Picking trip to Emmigration Canyon, outside of Prestion. It is beautiful. It is our way I guess to say goodbye to summer and to usher in fall. Whenever I am out in the woods and see wildflowers, I can't help but, get a little nostalgic and think of my mom and feel how very much I miss her. As you can see the little hands didn't quite pick as many huckleberries as the big hands did!!!

Then after that we stopped by Brians parents in Liberty and visited with them for a little bit, then headed off to our favorite fishing spot....only we got side tracked and ended up at the Bear Lake County Fair. We ate til we were stuffed and we weighed more than we did when we went in!!! (they had a killer huckleberry smoothie) We watched a talent competition. It was really fun, it amazes me the talents that people posess and are willing to share. By this time it was 7:00 p.m. so we bagged fishing and headed home. What an awesome day!!!

There is a first for everything

We went up to Mink Creek Friday night and stayed til Saturday Afternoon. We had a great time, but, did experience some "firsts". First of all, I actually made it to the top of scout mountain on my new motorcycle. However...Getting up there I had my very "first" motorcycle wreck ever!!!
It was fun to be with family and in the great outdoors.
At camp, just hanging out.
Yet, another "first", we left our camp trailer home!! Yes, we all 4 (including Jake) stayed in this little tent. (We thought it was bigger when we bought it!!) It brought back lots of memories of when we camped when I was growing up. I told Vanessa we would probably sell our trailer and just "tent" it. She really thought that was a very bad idea!!!!
